As part of the 15-day Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj
Singh Chouhan is scheduled to meet farmers in Delhi on Wednesday, June 11. The visit
includes stops in Tigipur, Bakhtawarpur, and parts of North Delhi, where the minister will
participate in grassroots-level discussions through Kisan Chaupal gatherings.
According to official sources, representatives from Ujwa Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the
Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa, will also be present at the events.
This initiative aims to bridge the gap between agricultural research and rural farming
communities by promoting awareness of advanced farming techniques, government
schemes, and addressing farmer concerns directly.
The campaign, which was launched on May 29 in Odisha, is set to wrap up on June 12. In
the span of this national outreach, Minister Chouhan has already interacted with farmers from
11 states.
One of the key goals of the initiative is to boost Kharif crop productivity. To this end,
around 16,000 agricultural scientists, organized into 2,170 teams, have been dispatched to
villages across India to engage in interactive dialogueswith farmers, ensuring a two-way
exchange of knowledge and concerns.
