Coromandel International Limited, a top agricultural solutions provider in India, has
introduced a new magnesium-enhanced complex fertilizer called ‘Paramfos Plus’ in
Bengaluru. The product was unveiled by Mr. Sankarasubramanian S, Executive Director of
the Nutrient Business at Coromandel International, alongside senior company leaders and key
channel partners from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
‘Paramfos Plus’ fertilizer includes 16% Nitrogen, 20% Phosphorus, and 13% Sulphur, with an
added 0.6% Magnesium. This additional Magnesium enhances photosynthesis, chlorophyll
production, and promotes vegetative growth, improving both crop quality and yield. The
fertilizer is versatile, suitable for both basal and top dressing, and can be used on a wide
range of crops such as paddy, cotton, maize, sugarcane, pulses, ragi, groundnut, oilseeds, and
vegetables. It is also effective for cereals, legumes, tuber crops, fruit-bearing plants, and
various horticultural crops, providing comprehensive nutrient support across diverse farming
practices.
With over six decades of legacy, ‘Paramfos’ has become one of the most trusted fertilizer
brands, particularly in Karnataka, helping Coromandel maintain a leadership position in the
state. Paramfos granules are free-flowing and suitable for both seed drill application and
broadcasting. The new product enhances the strengths of Paramfos with the benefits of
Magnesium and aims to provide balanced fertilization for various crops.
At the launch event in Bengaluru, Mr. Sankarasubramanian S stated, “Paramfos Plus, an
improved version of Paramfos, is enriched with Magnesium that enhances vegetative growth
and promotes early greening, leading to increased yield and superior quality. Coromandel’s
innovation in fertilizers underscores our commitment to enhancing nutrient efficiency,
reducing environmental impact, and improving the economic viability of farming in India.
This innovation also supports the Government’s initiatives to promote the use of fortified
fertilizers in India.”
