Lilly Bets Big on India Again — Hyderabad Emerges as Digital Innovation Hub

Global pharmaceutical leader Eli Lilly and Company has expanded its operations in India with the launch of a cutting-edge technology and innovation centre in Hyderabad. Located in Gachibowli’s Phoenix Equinox building, the 220,000 sq. ft. facility aims to strengthen Lilly’s digital transformation efforts across its global network.

The Hyderabad hub is set to focus on advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, automation, cloud solutions, and software product development. Currently staffed by 100 professionals, Lilly plans to scale this to 1,500, leveraging India’s deep tech and biotech talent pool.

Inaugurated by Diogo Rau, Lilly’s EVP and Chief Digital Officer, alongside Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, the launch marks a significant milestone in Hyderabad’s rise as a global life sciences and digital powerhouse. Rau emphasized that the investment reflects Lilly’s long-term commitment to India and its innovation ecosystem.

This centre will play a pivotal role in integrating technology with medicine, helping accelerate drug discovery and deliver more patient-centric solutions worldwide.
