RRP Defence Ltd has partnered with CYGR France to establish a cutting-edge drone manufacturing centre in Navi Mumbai, aligning with the Indian government’s Make in India campaign. This facility will focus on the production of compact fixed-wing drones, nano UAVs for short-range and indoor monitoring, and ISR platforms for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
Rajendra Chodankar, Chairman of RRP Defence, called the initiative a milestone in building a self-reliant UAV ecosystem. He stressed the importance of blending on-ground operational knowledge with CYGR’s advanced technology to deliver drones tailored for India’s defence requirements.
George El Aily, Director at CYGR, highlighted India’s strategic significance and expressed enthusiasm for co-developing drone solutions that address both present and future surveillance challenges. The collaboration also involves technology transfer, reinforcing India’s capabilities in aerospace manufacturing.

Dr Zaynah announced a $20 million export order, which will see French drone technology produced in India for international defence markets. The joint venture is expected to generate high-skilled jobs, strengthen India’s defence capabilities, and solidify the nation’s role as a growing player in the global drone export industry.
