New Delhi – As tensions escalate between India and Pakistan following military operations,
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda conducted a comprehensive review of the country’s
healthcare readiness on Friday, according to official sources.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Health provided updates on the current state of
preparedness across hospitals and medical facilities. The officials highlighted that real-time
oversight is being carried out through a centralized control hub to ensure swift response
capabilities.
The review was prompted by the ongoing military response—Operation
Sindoor—following the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack. In retaliation, Indian forces
targeted terror launch pads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, significantly
heightening cross-border tensions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level strategy session on Thursday with top
bureaucrats from various ministries. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high alert
levels, ensuring transparent communication, and reaffirmed the government’s resolve toward
national security and emergency preparedness.
The health ministry’s proactive monitoring underscores the government’s commitment to
staying equipped for any potential medical emergencies arising from the ongoing geopolitical
situation.
