SAWiT.AI aims to unlock a $550 billion opportunity for the Indian economy through a
program designed to train 500,000 women in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The initiative seeks
to address gender disparities in the labor market and position India as a global AI hub.
India currently has a low 24% participation rate of women in the paid labor force, lagging
behind other nations. Research by McKinsey Global Institute indicates that increasing
women’s participation by 10% could potentially add $550 billion to India’s GDP. However,
societal norms and mobility constraints often hinder women from entering the workforce.
According to market research by Precedence Research, the market potential for generative AI
is expected to grow significantly, reaching $803 billion by 2033. This growth underscores the
increasing demand for AI specialists worldwide.
The program targets women interested in pursuing careers in generative AI application
platforms, regardless of their prior work experience or academic background. Interested
candidates can register for the program on the SAWiT.AI registration page, with a nominal
fee of Rs 99. Registration closes on September 18, 2024.
SAWiT.AI aims not only to train but also to contribute to India’s economic development by
empowering women, bridging the gender gap, and positioning India as a leader in AI
globally. The program is open to all women, emphasizing inclusivity and promoting
opportunities in the AI sector.
